Liz Morris is basically the next Lucy Ford, she’s pretty good at art and nobody knows who she is… yet.

Some would describe Morris’s personality to that of a caffeinated chipmunk, other’s would use the same to describe her energy levels. Morris is an overly-friendly, overly-energized, and overly-ambitious kind of person. In her spare time, she can be found surrounded by friends, school-work or under a pile of sketches. Morris always has something on the go and moves quickly.

Morris is a 22-year-old artist based in Durham Region. Morris is an acrylic artist, who from a young age has been passionate, ambitious, and tenacious spirited about her dreams of working in the Arts & Culture Industry. Her passion for the industry has allowed her to gain many experiences in multiple roles, including Theatre Technician, Morning Show Production Intern, Ceramics Teacher, Broadcasting Instructor, Radio Technician and most recently as a Curator and Event Planner for her own private events. Morris was the host of M.A.D. Showcase on Riot Radio. The show focused on celebrating talented artists in the Durham College School of Media, Art & Design.

Morris first debuted as a professional artist with the success of her first private art show Liz’s Archive which took place in May 2018. Morris was featured in the art publication, Wunderlit, has had her work displayed in local coffee shops in Oshawa, and has been featured in local publication Snapd Oshawa multiple times for her art related events. Morris curated Twisted Visions, a horror-themed arts event featuring 13 young artists across diverse mediums which served as an opening event for the arts venue The Mansfield's Cabaret in Oct. 2018. Most recently, Morris had success with her fundraising event, Destination: Paint Night, where she instructed attendants through creating a beach sunset painting.

In the future, Morris desires to be involved with planning community events within local art galleries. To achieve this goal, Morris has most recently returned to school for her final year of Public Relation’s studies at Durham College. Morris is currently completing a field placement at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery to further her experiences with arts communications.
